Hi! I'm Elise, mama to 18 month old Emma - she is the inspiration behind Bowi Bear and the reason I started sewing organic children’s clothes and accessories. My little sewing corner in our house is my happy place. It's where I find calmness and loose track of time.

I have always dreamt of doing something creative, but there was always the fear of leaving my 'safe' job (high five to all teachers). Then Covid happened and my partner and I decided to swap busy London for Belgium (we lived in a one bed flat with a baby and without a garden). So bye bye secure job! As my maternity leave came to an end I thought, "this is it, my chance to take the leap and do something I'm actually excited about". 

My family and I love nature and the outdoors. We love a bicycle adventure, exploring the forest and feeling the sea on our toes. I hope that you see this love for our beautiful planet earth and all of its creatures reflected in the prints that I select for Bowi Bear. These beautiful prints are handcrafted by small independent pattern designers from around the world and are true works of art.

Respect for our planet is a big part of my brand's ethos and everything I create is with this in mind. Giving back to our planet is also important which is why I decided that for every order, big or small, Bowi Bear will plant a tree with One Tree Planted.
